Three separate robotic work cells were implemented in an automotive plant in Juarez, Mexico performing material handling operations in the high volume manufacturing of air conditioning compressors. The first cell kitted machined shafts into trays for further automated processing. The second cell similarly kitted housings into trays for subsequent processing. The third cell loaded and unloaded a processing machine that assembled the shaft to the squash plate in the compressor. All the cells developed around AdeptOne robots and custom end effectors.
