AS-30 Sliding Shoe Sorter Rounds out Long List of Daifuku-designed Material Handling System Products Available from Wynright

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (November 17, 2015) - Wynright Corporation,a subsidiary of Daifuku North America Holding Company and a leading U.S.-based provider of intelligent material handling systems, announced today its launch of the AS-30 Sliding Shoe Sorter, a high-speed, positive divert sorter designed to accurately track and gently sort cartons of various sizes and configurations. Its high-speed divert station handles high volumes of products, while mitigating wear and tear since it has no moving parts. The result is a divert station that provides high throughput rates, lasts longer, and requires less overall maintenance.

Leveraging Daifuku’s proven quality, the AS-30 Sorter boasts the best of both worlds – Japanese design and American ingenuity. The AS-30 is assembled in the U.S. from a mix of locally sourced and Japanese parts. All sorters are inventoried and ship from Oak Lawn, IL.

The AS-30 has two different divert options – high-speed divert switches, which offer speeds up to 600 fpm and significantly higher cycle times, or pneumatic divert switches, offering speeds up to 425 fpm. Divert stations ship pre-installed into the bed sections. In addition, diverts can easily be relocated in the field, meaning an unanticipated obstruction does not require remanufacturing; instead, the divert station can easily be moved to address those issues without prolonging the project completion date.

"The new sliding shoe sorter brings proven design, market-tested in Japan, China and other parts of Asia, to the U.S. for manufacture and sale,” said John Hejmanowski, Wynright’s Vice President of Automotion® Technical Support. “Wynright is at the forefront of materials handling technologies and system solutions, elevating the productivity of warehouses and DCs while improving warehouse safety."

Other features and benefits of the AS-30 Sorter include:

  • Removable sound dampening debris trays, which keep outside dust, dirt, and debris from getting inside the machine while reducing noise levels
  • Plexiglass side panels, which enable operators and maintenance personnel to inspect interior components without dismantling; easily removable for maintenance access
  • Wide variety of single-side and dual-side divert configurations available
