Footwear Distribution

Footwear distribution, like other types of apparel distribution, features a large number of SKUs because of the wide range of product sizes, colors and styles — and those products often quickly go out of date. Seasonal variations can complicate distribution and workforce considerations. Automated material handling systems that minimize the number of times a pair of shoes is handled between receiving and shipping can drastically reduce costs, especially during peak seasons. Wynright has designed and implemented many innovative solutions for this industry, most recently winning the Steel Joist Institute’s 2011 Design Award for the design, manufacture and installation of a 135,000 square foot mezzanine erected in SKECHER USA’s warehouse in Moreno Valley, CA.
